
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment Khalid Al Falih revealed that the United Kingdom is the second largest foreign investor in Saudi Arabia with investment shares worth as much as $16 billion.
In a panel session at the Great Futures expo, Al Falih noted that the investment sector relies heavily on banks and economic ventures in the financial field.
The minister further said that Saudi Arabia and the UK spearhead more than 20 economies around the world, affirming that Vision 2030 sets sights on innovation and economic diversification.
For his part, the UK’s Minister of Investment Dominic Johnson lauded the Kingdom’s achievements in deepening joint economic ventures and strengthening mutual cooperation.
He affirmed that Saudi Arabia has a lot of exceptional opportunities for British investors.
The Great Futures expo convened in Riyadh on 14 and 15 May with the participation of around 750 representatives. It primarily focused on innovation in research collaboration, disruptive technologies, emerging clean tech, finance, and sustainable construction.
A delegation of 300 British business executives participated in this two-day event to showcase the best UK excellence and innovation.
Headed by Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden, the mission included senior business leaders from various sectors, notably tourism, clean tech, trade, and insurance.
