
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The University of Strathclyde plans to open a branch in Saudi Arabia in partnership with Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University, to become the first UK higher education institution to establish a physical presence within the Kingdom.
A statement released by Saudi Arabia-UK Strategic Partnership Council revealed that both countries aspire to double the number of independent British schools in the Kingdom by the end of 2025. Since 2021, the UK has established five independent schools in Saudi Arabia.
It should be mentioned that the UK is the second largest foreign investor in Saudi Arabia with investment shares amounting to around $16 billion, according to the Saudi Minister of Investment Khalid Al Falih.
Saudi Arabia and the UK jointly organized the Great Futures trade summit on 14 and 15 May to solidify joint business ties through forging partnerships between public and private sectors in both countries across different economic sectors.
The summit primarily focused on innovation in research collaboration, disruptive technologies, emerging clean tech, finance, and sustainable construction.
